Of dogs, houses and cars…

Imagine arriving in a major city with your family, eager to integrate as quickly as possible, but before you can even begin, you have to organize everything you need for life. Besides meeting people, learning their language and experiencing their culture, you also need an apartment, a car, and furniture. Perhaps you're thinking, like we did, "Phew, just arriving and settling in would be challenging enough."„

„"Phew!", our boss in heaven might have thought too... and it wasn't by chance that a family appeared in our inbox a few weeks ago... Read more

On the home front

Saying goodbye, preparing, concluding… These keywords describe the current phase quite well. Last month, our whole family participated in a fantastic preparation course. A family from a partner organization (Operation MobilizationShe organized an afternoon for us, creatively preparing us for the upcoming changes and our reactions to them. She showed us how to recognize the symptoms of culture shock and support each other through this phase. We found the "5S" incredibly helpful, as they are supposed to significantly contribute to psychophysical stability: quiet (time), exercise, sleep, fun, sex...so simple, so true!
Here you can see our results for the assignment "From Austria to Kenya".

Over the past few months, we've been traveling a lot to present our project. David loves discussing challenging questions and tracing his beautiful new map of Africa (currently with his finger, but soon he'll be doing it in person). Two highlights were the "Let's Go" mission conference in Wels and an evening at the FEG Munich Mitte church, which we had the privilege of leading together with David's father on the topic of "Calling – How God Leads.".

We're celebrating on May 26th in the Church among the people (KUM) our Farewell and sending-out service. You are all cordially invited!

Kids Corner
This time, our younger daughter Layla would like to introduce herself:

The Lord is truly risen!

In Jordan, we learned about an Easter custom among Christians that we really enjoyed. We said to each other, "Almaseeh qam," and the response was "Haqan qam." This means something like "Christ is risen" and "That's true, he is risen." How is Easter celebrated in Kenya? We'll tell you next year.
For me, this custom represents what we celebrate at Easter: firstly, the victory of our Lord Jesus over death, and secondly, the importance of reminding each other of this truth and rejoicing in it.

On Good Friday we had a very moving service, which ended with this uplifting video. (Unfortunately, we couldn't find a German version.)

Finances

Thank you so much to all of you who have chosen to support this ministry financially. It was so encouraging to reach the 50% target at the end of March. It was as if God were saying directly to us, "Nothing is impossible for me!".

Here you can see how our network of partners is constantly growing. We've now reached approximately 601,003,000 of the monthly funds needed for the trip! The flight is booked for June 27th! It would be great to have the lion completely painted by then.

Would you like to help us with this lion? to dye?

Thank you for your encouragement, which we have received over the past few months through conversations, emails, and much more. It's wonderful to have such a strong circle of partners behind us.

Many blessings,
