Have a great start to the new year!
Some of you know that this year marks the sixth annual Soul Care Retreats. For me, this is an absolute highlight of my ministry here in Kenya because I see God so clearly at work.
What are Soul Care Retreats? Essentially, they are four intensive days during which we—a team of 13 people—invite individuals from all socioeconomic backgrounds, nations, and cultural origins to look into their own hearts. We work with the metaphor of the heart garden and the parable of the sower. In recent years, over 200 people have participated, and we have witnessed many genuine breakthroughs. People have begun forgiveness processes, relationships have been restored, and deep healing from severe trauma has been supported.
The second retreat focuses on the question: „How can I live deeply rooted in God’s love?“ – a new format that we hope will appeal to people who long for a „fruitful life“.
At this point, I would also like to thank everyone who contributed financially. These subsidies allow people to participate who would otherwise not have access to such services.
Anyone who would like to receive regular prayer updates over the next three weeks is welcome to register with Veronika Kramer (vor_kramer (a) hotmail.com).

At the beginning of the year, I started working in the local area. Children's Hospital I assist in the Chaplaincy Team and integrate Trauma Healing & Arts. I spend most of my time in group work with the parents of long-term patients (see picture above right).
In October, trainers from the Trauma Healing Institute from all over the world came together to exchange ideas. As SIM – Trauma Healing Coordinator, I now have the privilege of advancing this valuable work in Kenya. My hope is that this will lead to greater cooperation and more effective mentoring programs. (105 countries currently have active Trauma Healing groups! Pictured on the right are some of the SIM Regional Coordinators, meeting for the first time.)
Highlight of the last few months
In December, we enjoyed visits from Lisa's mother and David's sister (and her partner). Together we visited Lamu Island, where life feels like it's from the last century – an island where donkeys and motorcycles are the only means of transport, besides the legendary sailing boats (dhows).

THANKFUL
- Visit from Lisa's mother & David's sister

HOPEFUL

Greetings from Kijabe,
