We are so proud of our girls! Noemi has finished 6th grade and Layla 4th grade.
This school year, they started at a new school, in English, within a new school system. They didn't know any of the teachers or students, but they did their best to integrate online from Austria and then, after our move here to Kijabe in October. In January, in-person classes finally started, and they quickly took to it. Then, in April, the schools in Kenya were closed again for a month!
This is the first time in 3 years that our girls have finished a school year in a reasonably normal way.
Hats off to you, girls! Well done!
The sixth grade had a graduation ceremony with a concert, a religious service, and the presentation of certificates. There were also many tears because some children and teachers are moving away. Unfortunately, that's how it is in our field.
We're now off to Austria for the first time, and then to Portugal for Lisa's sister's wedding. In September, Noemi starts junior high school and Layla begins 5th grade (6 years of primary school).
Here, Noemi is playing trumpet in the school band at the graduation ceremony. She's hiding behind the pillar.
